Interview with Rose Mashal

Happy Monday, loves! I'm back this week with an interview with Rose Mashal, author of the newly released Heart of Steel: Temptation. Check it out below, and don't forget to check back on Friday for a special excerpt from the book!

What do you think is the most interesting thing about you?

I’m 32 years old Egyptian, mother of four girls and a boy. Three times cancer survivor. I graduated law school at the age of 22, but I found my passion in writing. I self-learnt the English language, and it’s one of the best things that happened in my life.

What is your favorite thing about writing?

Getting to read the stories I wanted to read.

If you could bring to life any of your characters, which would you choose and why?

Samuel Watson. He’s loyal, caring, and a secret-keeper. The world would be a better place with many people like him in it.

You’re stranded on an island. What two books would you bring with you and why?

Probably my holy book for comfort.

What genre would your characters read?

Penny reads scientific journals and keeps up with the latest in medical and technological advances. She does have some classics and romance novels on her shelf, leftovers from high school literature classes, that she just can’t part with. Michael kept up with baseball, liked history, read sci fi comic books for inspiration, but mostly published science and technology papers. Ian reads everything: classics, stock reports, sports statistics, history, knitting instructions... basically the internet.

Why did you choose to write in the romance genre?

Getting to fall in love over and over again.

Tell me one unique fact or quirk about one of your characters.

Penny has to get things done, no matter what. She doesn’t know anything about giving up. Which could put her in a big trouble sometimes.

What inspired your book?

A dream with one scene that will be in Book#2

If you only had three lines to tell readers about your book, what would you want them to know?

It’s a futuristic sci fi romance about a scientist who is grieving her lost love. She builds an android who is his double in secret, just so she can have him back again. But secrets are hard to keep, and soon her project of passion leads to blackmail and murder.

People grieve differently. Some hide in a corner and cry, others find strength in the arms of loved ones, while a few swallow their sadness and cherish the good memories. None of those appealed to Professor Penelope Ford. When fate tested her, tearing apart her life with her fiancé, Michael Davis, she refused to accept her new reality. Instead, she chose to live in a fantasy world of her own creation. For four years, Penelope worked on designing a clone of Michael. She wanted this new version to be stronger, smarter, and – most importantly – even more devoted to her. She craved a lover who would never walk out of her life again. Will the professor succeed in making her human-like android exactly what she wants him to be? Even more, will she be able to face the real world with what her grief has created?

Rose is a loved mother, wife, and a stay at home lawyer. Writing is her passion, and reading is her obsession. Music is her best friend and sarcasm is her speaking trend. One of her joys is bringing happiness to others and her biggest wish is that they stay true to one another. Through her stories, she wants to spread nothing except understanding, peace and love.
